She Opened the Box.
And Cried.
2011. LuxoPack's first overseas client was a woman in Paris selling handmade soap from her apartment.
Her budget was small. Her requirements were long — three pages of emails, each one more detailed than the last. She apologised at the end of every message for asking too much.
"I know I'm a small order. But this is my whole business. I just want the boxes to feel like the soap deserves them."
— Sophie, Paris · 2011Our founder Wei read the email three times. Then he walked onto the production floor and told the team four words:
"Make it like it's ours."
The boxes arrived in Paris three weeks later. Sophie filmed herself opening the shipment. She didn't say anything. She just held one box up to the light, turned it over slowly — and cried.
She sent us the video without any caption.
That year, LuxoPack's revenue was under ¥1,000,000. We had 40 workers, three production lines, and zero brand recognition outside Shenzhen. But in that moment, we understood exactly what we were building — and why.
LuxoPack today ships over 50 million boxes a year to 2,000+ brands in 50+ countries. We have a 30,000 sqm factory, 500+ staff, ISO 9001 and FSC certification.
Sophie still orders from us every season. Her soap brand now supplies 12 boutique stores across France and Belgium. Last year she sent us a photo of her packaging on a shelf in a shop on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré — one of the most famous streets in Paris.
The caption just said: "Look what we made."
A lot has changed since 2011. The factory. The team. The scale. But we still get emails from founders apologising for small orders. We still read every one of them carefully. And we still walk onto the production floor with the same instruction:
"Make it like it's ours."
Because we don't think we're making boxes. We think we're helping people build something they're proud of.
